My Study

My field of study is Science, Technology, and Society (STS). I am studying master of Innovation Sciences with specialization ‘Innovation and Sustainability‘.  Here is a brief introduction of what I am learning, you can also find here

In short my study is to learn how innovation (in broader sense, not merely R&D intensive) lift economic growth and development, while in the same time considering influence, risks, impacts, and ethical aspects.

Along with my master study I am taking certification of  Technology, Development, and Globalization (cTDG) which is organized by Bestuurscommissie Techniek voor Ontwikkeling (TvO) or University Committee Technology for Development at TU Eindhoven (TU/e). The inspiration for setting up TvO came from a group of students at the TU/e who were concerned about the declining interest in development issues. In 2001, an action committee was formed, which drew up a manifest entitled “Technology for Development”. This manifest states that technological improvement holds out great potential for improving poor people’s living and working conditions in developing countries.

I also studied as minor student in master Engineering and Policy Analysis, Technische Universiteit Delft.  Studying in two universities gave me invaluable academic and social experiences.
